Robust solutions for complex systems.

SSP Innovations offers Geographic Information Systems (GIS) consulting, custom software development, and systems integration which makes up the majority of the company's business. SSP has extensive experience in the entire project life cycle from requirements gathering through deployment and training. Our focus has been on implementing industry-leading ESRI technology for verticals focused on energy & utilities as well as the public sector (local/state government).

Systems Integration

We have a proven track record with small and large clients showing successful implementations of complex systems. Within energy & utility customers, we have further specialized in designing systems on top of Telvent Miner & Miner software including ArcFM, Network Adapter, and Designer. Our systems integration experience has included integrating the GIS to the following standard system types:

  • Customer Information Systems (CIS)
  • Distribution Planning Systems (DPS)
  • Outage Management Systems (OMS)
  • Work Management Systems (WMS)
  • Mobile Dispatch Systems (MDS)
  • Engineering Load Balancing

Satisfied Customers

Our staff is familiar with the technologies as well as the subject matter and we have a long list of satisfied customers. For more information on just a few of our projects, please review our GIS Project Profiles:

Industry Presentations

SSP Innovation's owner and chief technical architect, Skye Perry, co-published a paper on the implementation details of the NIPSCO (Northern Indiana Public Service Co.) GIS system. The paper was published via a partnership with the National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL) and it is available to the public from the NREL website: NIPSCO's Automated Energy Distribution and Reliability System

Perry has also presented papers at both the 2007 and 2008 ESRI Electric and Gas User Group (EGUG). In 2008 Perry co-presented a paper with Garland Power & Light (GP&L) titled Get Your GAME-FACE On - Extending your GIS to the Team. The presentation outlines how SSP Innovations helped GP&L extend their back end ESRI geodatabase to various other departments (warehouse, transformer shop, field) by adding web and mobile field access. The paper can be viewed here on the SSP website including full screenshots of a demo of GP&L's GIS-based applications.
