Industry Veteran Dennise Ramirez Joins SSP Team
Ramirez, most recently with Enspiria Solutions/Black & Veatch Corporation, joins SSP in a full-time Principal Consultant role. She brings decades of utility GIS project management experience to the company's ongoing and future projects, with a strong background in Esri and Telvent-related implementations and custom software design solving utility-wide business problems. Ramirez will serve as a key addition to the talented leadership pool SSP provides its clients.

SSP Innovations Wins Upgrades Contract with CoServ
CoServ, a 130,000-member-owned electric cooperative based in Corinth, TX has selected SSP to perform GIS upgrades to version 10 of the Esri and Telvent software. Through its committed business partnership with GIS-industry leaders Swova, SSP will upgrade ArcFM, Designer, Responder, Geodatabase Manager, ArcFM Replication and ArcFM Viewer, as well as perform customizations and systems integration to WMS, CIS, SCADA and IVR systems. SSP also performed CoServ's previous upgrade to version 9.3.1.

SSP Presents Two Papers to Large Audiences at 2011 EGUG Conference
At this year's Esri Electric and Gas User Conference, SSP's own Skye Perry and John Garrett of Garland Power & Light (TX) presented "GIS-Integrated Work Management for Small Utilities," which showcases the functionality of the company's popular new software, Workforce Management. Perry also teamed with Arnisa Davis and Steve Veltman from Memphis Light Gas and Water (MLGW) to discuss "Maximizing GIS Performance in Your Sleep" which covers functionality found in SSP's Nightly Batch Suite. Both talks were highly attended at the conference, which was held in October in Columbia, SC.

Central Lincoln PUD Hires SSP to Perform Systems Integrations Work
This small utility in the Northwest has brought SSP on to create a custom data export which will help integrate their GIS system to a new outage management system (OMS). Central Lincoln PUD is based in Newport, Oregon and provides power to over 38,000 customers. Work on the project begins in October.

Telvent Announces Partnership With SSP Innovations and Esri to Provide Work Management System to Small- and Mid-Sized Utilities
Telvent has announced a partnership with SSP and Esri to provide SSP's Workforce Management software to small- and mid-sized utilities in need of the major benefits of a centralized work management system for a minimal cost. The web-based tool, which features a tight integration to Telvent's Designer software and the Esri ArcGIS environment, has been implemented at two utilities already. See the press release here.

Douglas County PUD Selects SSP Innovations to Lead Comprehensive GIS Implementation
The project will include implementation of an Esri ArcGIS geodatabase, Telvent's ArcFM, Designer, Fiber Manager and ArcFM Viewer for ArcGIS Engine solutions, and SSP's own Workforce Management work-order lifecycle software. Douglas County PUD provides retail electric service to around 18,000 customers, 24 broadband communication ISPs and 68 water customers within Douglas County, WA.

SSP Launches Monthly e-Zine
SSP Innovations launched its new monthly e-zine, Energy Advisor, in June 2011. Energy Advisor is an email sent to a secured list of subcribers, containing helpful articles, tools, hints and sample code with the goal of helping utility personnel do their job better. SSP Wins GIS Integration for Northern Indiana Energy
SSP will be merging the ESRI GIS data from Kokomo & NIFL gas companies into the larger NIPSCO ArcFM GIS as part of the corporate merger scheduled for early 2011. This work will provide consolidated data management to the companies while further preparing them for their long term goal of integrating to IBM's Maximo.

SSP Develops Work Management System for Small Utilities
In 2010 SSP will work with GP&L to create the first version of WorkForce Management (WFM) which will become the utility's work management system for creating, managing, and working service/work requests. Work begins in March 2010. Phase 2 of the project will include an integration to Telvent Designer to allow for graphic design service requests.

SSP Delivers Urban Area Security Initiative (UASI) Project
The MLGW UASI project will allow the Memphis utility, the surrounding six counties, and several emergency response organizations to share GIS data across the organizations to streamline a coordinated response in the case of widespread disaster. The project was delivered as a standalone 7 server VMWare ArcGIS Server implementation in early 2010.
